IHPHOP participates in SAEC meeting

On Tuesday 1 July 2025, the annual meeting of the Secretariat d'Arxivers Eclesiàstics de Catalunya (SAEC), which brings together the main ecclesiastical archives of Catalonia, including diocesan, chapter, parish and religious order archives in the Principality, was held in the city of Barcelona.

The Historical Institute participated for the first time in the person of its technical secretary, Josep Maria Busquets Frigola, on behalf of the director, Fray Alejandro J. López Ribao, who excused the other participants from the meeting.

The meeting discussed various topics related to the ecclesiastical archives, such as their future, their conservation, the location and preservation of the women's convent archives, issues related to the musical archival heritage, as well as the International Archives Congress to be held in Barcelona at the end of October.

After the meeting, some of the participants gathered for a fraternal meal.
