Barcelona holds a seminary about dominican libraries in Spain and South America

On January 14th, the seminary called Libros y bibliotecas de los dominicos: las trazas de las colecciones en España y Latinoamérica was celebrated in Barcelona, organized by the Historical Institute of the Province of hispania. Other collaborating entities were the Facultat d'HIstòria, Arqueologia i Arts Cristianes Antonio Gaudí from the Ateneu Universitari Sant Pacià, the Grup de Recerca i Estudis d'Història Cultural (GREHC) from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Universitat de Barcelona through its research project "Interferencias culturales: políticas editoriales y circulación del libro en el Atlántico hispánico".

The seminary wanted to digress on dominican libraries in Spain as well as Iberoamerica between the 16th and 19th centuries, with topics centered around the routes of supply, bibliographical findings, catalog methods or sponsorhip from the friars. The presentations were imparted by various professors and researchers of these areas. Along these we can highlight Dr. Pedro Rueda Ramírez (UB), Dra. Marina Ruiz Fargas (CRAI de la UB), Dr. Alejandro J. López Ribao OP (AUSP), Miguel Lecaros Álvarez (UB) and Hugo Daniel López Hernández (UNAM). A total of twenty people participated in the hall plus fifty more people who participated online, as because it was organized in collaboration of universities of Mexico and Chile.
