El Rosario: historia, iconografía, cofradía y santidad en Andalucía (spanish)

The Rosary as we know it today is the result of a long history of prayer, devotion, associations and a very interesting iconography that has marked the history of Catholicism from the Middle Ages to the present day. Even with monastic antecedents of singular importance, it is the Order of Preachers who, from the end of the 15th century, gave the Rosary its current structure and, especially, its popular and missionary character. In this sense, the Dominican Confraternity and, later, the diocesan brotherhoods, have given the Rosary its singular prominence in Andalusia. These proceedings, written by prestigious professors and researchers, will give us a significant insight into the reality of the Rosary in the ancient Province of Betica in historical and iconographic terms, as well as a significant example of the fame of sanctity in the town of La Palma in Huelva.
