"On November 18th 2023, in the city of Córdoba, a congress on the convent of Santo Domingo de Escalceli took place for its sixth centenary. The academic act developed at the assembly hall that the Foundation Miguel Castillejos has in the city.
The celebration of the sixth centenary has been the occasion to manifest an important part of the history of the Order of Preachers (Dominicans) in Córdoba. When we know our past, we face better the present and the future.
Making memory of the past we have lived, opens us ways for the future. The congress was, no doubt, an encouragement for the future when we have to perceive the time and the events that happen in the existence of the people and of the institutions, because they are related to the Order of Preachers in its way for Andalucía during the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. All this within the broader history of the Church".
