Los dominicos y la advocación del Dulce Nombre de Jesús en Andalucía (spanish)

The commemoration of the 8th centenary of the approval of the Constitutions of the Dominicans by Honorius III in 1216 has had a great impact on the Order, as is eloquently reflected in the numerous events held around the world. This anniversary is also the reason that has prompted the Archconfraternity of the Dulce Nombre de Archidona to organise a congress in April 2016 under the title ‘The Dominicans and the invocation of the Sweet Name of Jesus in Andalusia’.
The convening of this academic meeting is justified by the title of the aforementioned archconfraternity, whose coat of arms bears that of the Order of Preachers, and by the secular presence of the spiritual sons of Saint Dominic of Guzmán in the city from the 16th century until the exclaustration of the religious at the beginning of the second third of the 19th century.
The numerous congress participants who registered for the congress confirm the interest awakened by the papers debated on the theme of the Dominicans and the invocation of the Sweet Name of Jesus in Andalusia as a whole. The contributions made by outstanding specialists from universities and research centres are collected in this work published on the initiative of the active and dynamic penitential brotherhood of Archidon with the invaluable collaboration of the Order of Preachers.
